Siwan has worked in horticulture for 14 years. She began her journey into botany and horticulture by studying with the Royal Horticultural Society in London. She then moved to Cornwall to further her development by working with the Eden Project, specifically looking at tropical plant production, propagating everything from orchids to papaya trees. She was then offered a place to study at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where she stayed for 3 years, expanding and deepening her love and knowledge for the natural world.
After a role as Acting Head Gardener on a private estate in London, she moved to Bristol to start her own business and became involved in community growing projects, where she enthused and inspired people to get their hands dirty, to think about food sovereignty and organic growing, and learn how beneficial beautiful gardens and spaces can be.
After managing the growing side of a social enterprise nursery Siwan became employed as a Skilled Gardener at a private estate in Wiltshire, where she managed the kitchen garden and growing organic flowers for the cut flower business.
She was then employed at Bristol Botanic Gardens where she worked both under glass and in the wider gardens, specifically working on the South African plant collection.
Siwan recently returned home to Cornwall with her young family to begin the next chapter of her life and career.
